4/16/2024 0 Comments Rocksmith 2014 no cable fix ps4![]() ![]() ![]() I experience the problem with no other USB devices connected. I experienced the problem both before and after upgrading my PS4 hard drive. I believe 2.01 was current when the title launched, and I'm currently on 4.07.Ĭables are plugged directly into the PS4. I've had the problem both on my launch PS4 (model CUH-1001A) and PS4 Pro (model CUH-7015B) with every single firmware version along the way. The fact that it hasn't been even acknowledged since has been unbelievable, so thank you for finally taking steps to understand the issue. I've had this problem since Rocksmith PS4 was first released, which was frustrating following a year of flawless use of the PS3 version. I rarely have crackling issues unless I leave my unit in rest mode - I really think rest mode/full power-down behavior differences is a valid place to start your debugging.Įdit: I should also add that this is the only game where this happens to me and have played about 24 other titles in my console. This discharge noise doesn't happen when going into rest mode. Interestingly enough, I can hear my PS4 purge a static discharge from the console (discharge heard through the speakers and sounds very similar to the crackling) right before it fully powers down. Resetting and disconnecting the cable pieces doesn't always solve the issue, but it usually does the trick. The crackling has bad days (impossible to play), good days (99% of the time it's fine, but every now and again.rrrr), and days where it never happens at all. Lately, I've also been unplugging the guitar cable from the USB port and disconnecting the middle cable, then blowing on the connection pieces. The crackling is usually apparent as soon as the game loads and will persist until I do a full power down of the PS4.The guitar signal never gets fully dropped If the graphical tuner is shown, you can see the frequency shake dramatically. ![]() It will detect the crackling as being off-pitch.The crackling is purely from the guitars/bass.Typically just 1 other controller plugged in/charging.At work now, so can't look into this, but it was the special edition Star Wars box with Darth Vader on it.I really hate cussing/yelling at such a beautiful product haha. THANK YOU for finally putting out something official about this!! It's been mentally difficult getting past the upgrade to PS4 being a downgrade, I love your product so much (never touched a guitar until 3 years ago, now in 2 actively gigging bands because of Rocksmith) and am happy to see somebody finally stepping up to address this issue. I will likely have more questions for you but let's start with those. Can you record the crackling sound and post an audio or video file that demonstrates it?.Is there variance to when the crackling sound appears - right away, after playing X number of minutes?.Does Rocksmith stop hearing the guitar after you get the crackle, or does it continue hearing it with errors in note detection?.Do you hear crackling just on the guitar input audio, or do you hear crackling on the prerecorded game soundtrack elements as well?.What other USB devices are connected? Is anybody also getting crackling via USB headphones?.Are you using the stock hard drive, or have you upgraded the internal drive to a larger capacity drive?.Are your cables plugged in directly to the PS4, or through a hub?.What is the model number/hardware revision of your PS4? (It'll be on the sticker underneath, usually). If you are one of the players who has experienced this, I would like to ask you some questions that might help us understand what elements are at play: It's clearly happening to you, but it isn't happening to everyone, so we need to figure out how to make it happen to us in order to determine the cause and eliminate the issue. We have gotten reports over the last few monhts of a "crackling noise" plaguing some PS4 players, but we have been unable to reproduce this in-house using retail PS4s.
